Empowering young Australians to be a clear Christian voice

Feeding the poor: banned?

A WA local church has gotten into trouble for its “unapproved use of land”.

The church often gets criticised for being too heavenly-minded and not of earthly use.

But we are told in the Bible that true religion involves looking after widows and orphans (James 1:27) and being generous to the poor (Proverbs 14 :21).

Bless Scarborough Baptist church for doing this!

Religion should not and cannot be restricted to just prayer and singing. True worship is about doing, not just talking.

The local council would do well to see how they can best support this fine effort of loving thy neighbour.
