Empowering young Australians to be a clear Christian voice

Marriage & the law of creation

Although Almighty God certainly did not compose Australia’s Marriage Act, as noted by MP Graham Perrett, it would be a serious error to regard marriage as a human construct (”Same sex marriage vote heads for defeat”, June 19).

Marriage legislation recognises male-female covenanted unity as a valued institution which existed long before any law-giver ascended the heights of Canberra. But as the law of creation does not look favourably upon attempts to contradict the received meaning of marriage, neither should human legislation.
